Reprise Software Inc. today announces that special licenses for v2.0 of the
Reprise License Manager TM (RLM) are available at no charge to enterprise
customers under a new program expressly designed for internal application
developers. This new internal use license program allows development
organizations within enterprise customers to license RLM for use within
applications that are written for and deployed within their own organizations.
RLM’s familiar design and simple API makes it an ideal choice for companies who
need to limit and keep track of applications that are written for their internal
users.
RLM supports a core set of license types such as floating, node-locked, and
named-user. But, with RLM, license policy is largely removed from the
application and is placed into the license key itself. This makes license
software integration and support easier for the developer and results in more
consistent and comprehensible licensing policies for the end-user. RLM is
specifically designed to support large, decentralized license deployment
strategies – exactly what enterprise end users require.
End user organizations also benefit from RLM because their license usage data is
more accessible to them in an unencrypted, fully documented format. This allows
end-users to produce license usage reports that will help them understand where
and how their internal applications are being used.
In addition to the 32bit Microsoft Windows, Linux, Mac OSX, Solaris, and Solaris
64bit binaries, RLM is also available for use on 64 bit Linux and Solaris 10 on
AMD Opteron.
